Derek is a Ghana-born, [American] midwest-raised audio producer and freelance multimedia storyteller. He has spent nearly a decade coming of age in Asia and Latin America. Most recently, he spent nearly three years in Beijing, China, where he completed a master’s degree in multimedia journalism in 2019. He speaks Mandarin, Spanish, and passable Japanese.
